Research abstract

Acme Solutions LLC is developing a portable, precision-directed energy system for covert infrastructure disablement, counter-UAS, and explosive ordinance disposal (EOD) in contested environments. Unlike traditional kinetic methods that create detectable signatures or electronic warfare solutions that lack precision, this system delivers scalable, non-kinetic effects with milliradian-level targeting accuracy, ensuring operational effectiveness while maintaining stealth. This Phase II effort will enhance ruggedization, power management, and system endurance, refining the thermal stability, targeting precision, and interoperability required for warfighter deployment. The system will integrate stabilized gimbal technology, ATAK compatibility, and automated thermal controls, enabling seamless situational awareness and remote operation. Testing and evaluation will validate performance in real-world mission environments, ensuring transition readiness for USAF AFMC AFRL/RDLA and other operational units. The system aligns with the USAF Strategic Capability of Speed and Reach of Disruption and Lethality and the Operational Imperative of Readiness to Deploy and Fight, providing low-signature, speed-of-light engagement for USAF and SOF operators. Its compact, self-contained design offers a deployable alternative to large, vehicle-mounted directed energy systems, minimizing logistical burden while maximizing mission flexibility.Beyond defense applications, the core laser technology presents dual-use commercial potential in industrial cutting, welding, hazardous material neutralization, and infrastructure maintenance. This effort leverages strategic partnerships with nLIGHT and Sandia National Laboratories to accelerate scalability and commercialization, ensuring both DoD transition success and broader market adoption.
