Research abstract

To address the Navy’s need for a software application that can automate and synchronize identical or almost identical data contained on various databases, RedShred proposes to develop the new Bridging Redundant Information for Data Governance and Efficiency (BRIDGE) based on the latest advances in ML, natural language processing (NLP), and AI-enhanced deduplication technologies. Specifically, the innovation in BRIDGE's automated data synchronization and redundancy detection will enable  improved performance in areas such as real-time data integration, the elimination of manual redundancy detection and resolution, defect reporting, and accelerated decision-making. As a result, this technology offers to facilitate real-time automated cross-database synchronization, intelligent and semantically-aware redundancy detection, enhanced data processing for multi-format support, and context-driven prioritization of defects, which directly address the program requirements. In Phase I, RedShred will fulfill all Phase I requirements from the solicitation and demonstrate the feasibility of using advanced AI/ML and NLP to automatically deduplicate and synchronize variable databases. In Phase II, Redshred plans on partnering with Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) to test BRIDGE on real Test Observation Reports (TOR), Trouble Reports (TR)/ Problem Reports (PRs), and other reports as we expand BRIDGE to include automatic database translation schema generation and integrate Redshred’s high-performing OCR for handwritten document analysis and report generation. IDT has current and past performance with AEGIS.
