Research abstract

Innovative lithium-ion battery technology using lithium titanate (LTO) chemistry offers robust performance tailored to meet the demanding requirements of military ground vehicles. This technology demonstrates superior safety through zero-volt storage capability, exceptional long-term reliability with >95% capacity retention after 2000 cycles, and the ability to operate across a wide temperature range (-46°C to +71°C). Extensive testing validates its suitability for high-power applications, such as vehicle control systems and safety systems, replacing traditional lead-acid and nickel-cadmium batteries. The modular design supports standardization across various battery formats, enabling enhanced compatibility and logistical efficiency. With a focus on durability, safety, and adaptability, this technology addresses critical energy storage challenges for military applications, providing potential for cost savings and improved operational readiness.
