Research abstract
The WearTAK-Mil integration into BATDOK is a Phase II development effort designed to create a fully integrated, enterprise-level COTS medical monitoring solution that will enable real-time physiological monitoring, automated distress detection, and continuous medical data transmission for USAF medical teams. Currently, USAF medical personnel rely on manual data entry for patient vitals, which creates inefficiencies in triage, medical decision-making, and patient care coordination during field treatment and medical transport. This project will develop and validate WearTAK-Mil’s integration with TAK/BATDOK, ensuring seamless, automated data flow from point of care through MEDEVAC, CASEVAC, and hospital handoff. Through this 18-month Phase II effort, Ascent Integrated Tech will advance WearTAK-Mil toward TRL 8, ensuring its full compatibility with TAK/BATDOK networks while undergoing rigorous field testing with USAF medical teams, including aeromedical evacuation units, CCATT, and ground-based operational medical personnel. The 88 ABW/XPX TAK COE has identified automated physiological data integration into BATDOK as a critical capability, reinforcing the need for this system to support USAF medical logistics programs and DoD-wide operational medicine initiatives. This effort will deliver a validated and scalable solution capable of securing real-time patient data transmission, enhancing triage efficiency, and reducing cognitive burden on medical personnel. The project directly aligns with DoD digital transformation initiatives and provides a clear commercialization pathway for future deployment across military and civilian medical operations, ultimately ensuring improved medical response, enhanced situational awareness, and optimized patient care in dynamic operational environments.
