Research abstract

Tanner Research proposes to address a critical capability gap in the Common Munitions Built-In Test/Reprogramming Equipment (CMBRE) by integrating a 270V DC programmable power supply and enhancing its ability to test and maintain advanced mission equipment. Currently, the CMBRE lacks support for 270V DC systems, necessitating the development of a solution that maintains compatibility with MIL-STD-1760E. The proposed approach involves designing a ruggedized adapter box capable of supporting high-voltage power testing while meeting strict military standards for reliability, environmental resilience, and data communication. The Phase I effort focuses on feasibility analysis, preliminary design, and prototype development, laying the groundwork for full-scale implementation in subsequent phases. By providing a scalable and adaptable solution, this project will significantly improve mission readiness, reduce logistical burdens, and streamline testing operations for critical munitions and mission equipment across multiple platforms.
