Research abstract

MISSILE for Land Based Test Facilities is the digital transformation of shore-based operations. It streamlines configuration and management of multiple lines of assets, combat systems, and platform sensors. While improving performance and increasing operational capacity, MISSILE drives the ability to be both nimble and responsive to Fleet needs. With integration, MISSILE allows silent data from stovepiped resources and cross-functional teams to become actionable while reducing paper-based processes. The system enables near real-time visibility into equipment status and availability. This effort will provide the required resources to mature the existing technology to ensure it is acquisition ready within the Surface Combat Systems Center roadmap. The technology development under this Phase II will ensure a robust and packaged technology capable of delivering human-machine decision aides to support combat systems testing.  Specifically, this effort will focus on:Creating efficiencies by digitizing manual processes and automating data availability; Increasing customer service and equipment sustainment outcomes through real-time visibility and efficient event scheduling management; Safely managing the work of maintenance that will also provide readiness data; and Providing real-time situational awareness/asset availability of every combat system baseline in the Fleet. Additionally, this system will enable real-time equipment and performance status to SCSC sponsors within the Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS), the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and other DoD entities.
