Research abstract

Nu-Trek proposes to develop a novel unit cell which minimizes ROIC NEdT, power, and die size for 8 um pitch full frame uncooled thermal sensors. To maximize impact, Nu-Trek will develop the unit cell in two processes- first in ONC18 and then in BCD65. Two innovations will be implemented in the unit cell that provide superior NEdT performance over a wide range of background temperatures and a substantial size/power reduction for full frame uncooled thermal sensors. Phase II will culminate with the inclusion of the two designed, fabricated, and vetted mUC unit cells in IP libraries.
