Research abstract

A Publish and Subscribe (P&S) architecture forms the foundation of the Joint Battlespace Infosphere (JBI) system, which is composed of protocols, processes, and common core functions permitting participating applications and organizations to share andexchange mission-critical information in a timely manner. The Air Force is examining various P&S standards that have the potential of forming the basis for a comprehensive JBI platform. Leveraging Architecture Technology Corporation's existing technologiesin reconfigurable test tools and network-level system simulation, this SBIR research has successfully developed an innovative architecture for an Integrated Publish & Subscribe Architecture Test Harness (InPATH) that will enable distributed simulation andperformance testing of multiple P&S systems on multiple platforms. This integrated solution will enable evaluation of P&S systems both under development and in operation. The proposed Phase II effort will build an easy-to-use and cost-efficient testharness that will provide JBI platform evaluators a powerful tool to test and assess the capability and performance of various Publish & Subscribe architectures.
