Research abstract

Airmen, pilots, and missileers work extremely long shifts that have caused fatigue and stress-induced accidents across the Air Force. This has resulted in hundreds of millions in losses, deaths, and reduced combat readiness across the service. Stress, fatigue, and poor physical recovery reduce DAF pilot, special operator, and Airmen operational performance. The consequences are reduced performance, mental/physical overload, and operational mishaps/accidents during exercises and operations. To address this, The Apollo Neuro wearable uses a patented haptic feedback technology that stimulates the body's nervous system and promotes relaxation, improves stress resilience, and enhances recovery. Apollo Neuro's wearable is based on extensive neuroscientific research into the role of the autonomic nervous system in regulating stress, sleep, and cognitive performance. The device emits low-frequency vibrations, which are scientifically designed to stimulate the vagus nerve and activate the parasympathetic "rest-and-digest" response. Clinical studies have demonstrated that this approach can significantly improve heart rate variability (HRV), a critical biomarker of stress resilience and autonomic balance. The technology provides a non-pharmaceutical option for enhancing mental and physical health, supporting its credibility among medical professionals and researchers.
