Research abstract

SAUCEN (Smart, Adaptive, Ultra-Reliable, Cyber-Resilient, Efficient Network) software, powered by AI, revolutionizes data transmission with elevated speed, resilience, security, and cost efficiency: achieving 5x-50x better data transmission throughput than standard TCP, ensuring unparalleled data integrity with robust error resilience, and delivering comprehensive data-centric protection, featuring Low Probability of Detection and Interception (LPD/LPI). This game-changing capability, including assured data delivery without ACK and RESENT, reduces EMS signature which is crucial for tactical communication on the battlefield. Our software can potentially save up to 60% on hardware costs. This solution is critical for supporting DoD's global operations. Our solution utilizes innovative technologies like Forward Error Correction, data transmission protocol, data dissemination, federation, compression, and encryption schemes to support swift, reliable, and secure global communications, especially, in denied, degraded, intermittent or limited (DDIL) networks. In response to the Army's need to “ensure secured communication in degraded environments over extraordinary distances.”, we propose leveraging UDP and our groundbreaking FEC for faster and more efficient data transmission than TCP. SAUCEN demonstrated impressive performance with 5-50X accelerated data transmission over the same Internet. This dual-use technology has expansive market potential, impacting both military operations and the trillion-dollar global telecom market and extending applications to areas like 5G/6G, Satellite Communication, Data-intensive operations such as AI and Autonomy, Cloud computing and storage, and Next-gen Internet for the Metaverse. SAUCEN had the potential to pave the way for the future of the Internet to address the big data challenge.SAUCEN works on bit and byte. It supports any data type and accommodates different hardware and platforms. Our team collectively has 80 years of industry experience with tenure in many of the most famous high-tech companies. Our track record speaks for itself. Furthermore, we collaborate and partner with many defense primes. We maintain a 100% US-based supply chain with all team members as US citizens. The foundation of the SAUREN framework and its major features have been developed. The focus of this SBIR project is to examine the integration details of this software solution on the Army’s used tactical radios. We aim to demonstrate the feasibility and integration path for this software solution into tactical radio systems to significantly improve the operational performance, security and resilience.
