Research abstract

The Department of Defense (DoD) Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO) is seeking innovative solutions in the areas of Autonomous Systems, Machine Learning, Cyber, Cross-Domain Kill Chains, Enhanced surveillance and reconnaissance, and Non-traditional Defense Technologies. Genesis Codes develops software solutions to amplify the resilience of data infrastructure with breakthrough technologies in data coding, compression, and encryption, elevating the speed, reliability, security, and efficiency of mission-critical communication and data storage. The solution focus on moving Data in Space (Telecom) and Time (data storage) even in the face of severe interference such as Electronic Warfare, achieving 10x faster transfer speed, superior data resilience in a contested network environment with lower RF signature, better data durability than leading cloud providers at 40% storage space, and total data-centric protection with LPD/LPI(Low Probability of Detection/Low Probability of Intercept). Considering the SCP’s goals, our core technical competencies and focus on data resilience act as a linchpin, connecting and supporting numerous critical technology areas including Autonomous Systems, Cyber Defense, Cross-Domain Kill Chains, and Enhanced Surveillance and Reconnaissance. The proposed SAUREN (Secure Adaptive Ultra-reliable Resilient Efficient Network) is a software-defined solution, that can enable a higher speed of data movement, reduce latency, improve data security, reliability and overall resilience, and reduce total cost of operation. The distinguishing feature of our solution lies in the innovative channel coding technique, which greatly enhances network reliability and system resilience, and enables LPD/LPI operations even when we utilize public network assets. Built on this novel channel coding foundation, we develop a swift and reliable data transport protocol to support swift and high-performance data transport over distance or poor network conditions (under electronic warfare interference). This solution accommodates flexible network topography and supports dynamic mesh networks to support resilient connectivity. Notably enhancing network resilience, efficiency, and simplicity, effectively reduces the total cost of ownership (setup, operation, and maintenance expenses).
