Research abstract

Continuous and autonomous monitoring of military personnel and the collection of physiologic, biomedical, and environmental data provides an opportunity to improve and optimize the readiness of formation-centric military units during training and deployment. In prior work a proof of concept novel internet of things gateway Hub has been developed to autonomously synchronize data from novel healthcare wearables to upstream data store and processing infrastructure. The Hub has been demonstrated in lab and field exercises including test and evaluations in partnership with Navy Health Research Center under the Command, Readiness, Endurance, Watchlist CREW program. This project will work to further extend and test the hub technology including the ability to sync to commercial devices and establish a dual use commercialization path.
