Research abstract

Infinity Systems Engineering’s Advanced Command and Control Extension for Space Systems (ACCESS) is a cloud-native, modular software extension to the existing Global Positioning System (GPS) Control Segment providing mesh network management of resilient crosslinks and fusion of Alternate PNT data into a common simulation testbed to inform GPS operator Course of Action (COA) analysis. ACCESS was originally conceived on the reality that the current and future GPS Control Segments (AEP, OCX) and the Space Segments (GPS III, IIIF) are being incrementally evolved with new capabilities to deliver innovation to warfighters – new Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) signals, communications, resiliency payloads, etc. ACCESS adds a core Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) architecture to the existing software and satellite interfaces to facilitate the capability insertion process, including 3rd party providers of Alternate PNT technology that would be integrated with the existing GPS segments. The ACCESS solution first and foremost supports the GPS IIIF Space and Control Segments with the Enhanced Command and Control (EC2) capability, which adds resilient optical intersatellite links, by applying its Artificial Intelligence-based algorithms to rapidly solve crosslink opportunities to form a mesh network topology. The ACCESS Phase II Minimum Viable Product provides immediate value to the SV10 Crosslink Demo with mission planning capabilities. ACCESS also provides a common PNT mission modeling sandbox where a real-time composite PNT picture is possible. ACCESS imports data products from Alternate PNT vendors to provide GPS operators with real-time awareness of PNT signals for the GPS Warfighter Collaboration Cell (GWCC) to assess NAVWAR COAs.
