Research abstract
AstraNav converts Earth’s magnetic fields into 3D geolocation data, permitting navigation and positioning at, above and below Earth’s surface, up to over 100,000 ft. AstraNav’s solution requires no Global Position System (GPS) or RF emissions to function, and integrates onto existing open-source and simplistic hardware (Arduino, Raspberry Pi). AstraNav’s software is platform-agnostic and can run on any operating system — from mobile handsets and microprocessors to complex embedded systems. Magnetic field sensors (magnetometers) are in billions of existing devices including navigation systems, autopilots, all smartphones, and countless other platforms.
