Research abstract

Beacon Industries, Inc., having more than 75 years of expertise and experience in aerospace products manufacturing, proposes an advanced hybrid electric propulsion system for UAVs and aircraft, emphasizing weight reduction and power efficiency.  The proposed system will integrate fuel cell and battery technologies in a regulated parallel configuration, addressing weight optimization and promoting electric and hybrid electric propulsion. Our approach will adhere to MIL-STD-1553 and MIL-STD-810,  will blend fuel cells and high C-rate batteries, optimizing energy efficiency and power output, especially for extended missions. An innovative regulated parallel system will manage battery charging and discharging, minimizing UAV system weight. The proposed solution will offer the U.S. Air Force enhanced operational capabilities, reduced environmental impact, improved efficiency, and redundancy. Beacon's models will enable performance evaluation and system optimization, aligning with military standards. This initiative will support urban air mobility, marking Beacon's commitment to the future of aerospace. The solution will surpass current state-of-the-art systems in weight reduction, energy efficiency, redundancy, environmental sustainability, and technological leadership, making it a pivotal advancement in hybrid turbine propulsion.
