Research abstract

We are addressing the need to analyze Kill Webs enabled with space Force Designs in the context of the Operational and Strategic campaign, and thereby quantify the high-level impacts resulting from candidate space Force Designs. Doing this for multiple Force Designs is a type of Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), and is a standard trade study method. We use modeling to capture the parameters, behaviors, interfaces, and relationships among the elements in our system, and simulation to execute that model in time to measure performance. Success or failure at the Kill Web (Tactical) level informs how well we meet Operational objectives, which informs how well we meet Strategic objectives. In this way, we can predict which of several candidate Force Designs give us the best outcomes at the Strategic level, and intelligently steer the procurement cycle for future space systems.
