Research abstract

The overall objective of this Phase II shall be a robust design for an optical guidance concept integrated with the APKWS and aircraft-mounted (T) and ground vehicle-mounted (O) weapons control systems. The system design concept shall be demonstrated though a series of ground-based hardware in the loop test events and live fire rocket shots (from either a ground or aircraft-mounted launcher) to validate effective passive guidance within the APKWS flight envelope and confirm/clarify aircraft-mounted (T) and ground vehicle-mounted (O) system integration requirements. This is a munition software development effort and the deliverable is a multiple shot live fire demonstration using the full up system. The Contractor’s developed software will be hosted on the rockets fired during the demonstration and the rounds will be destroyed during that event.
