Research abstract

With a hydrogen system-of-systems comprised of multiple mature commercial products, Mach Industries (formerly Trident Industries)Āwill address several operational energy challenges faced by Marine Corps infantry at the company level and below. We will eliminate infantryÆs reliance on contested petroleum fuel logistics and instead enable a more resilient, distributed logistics system that produces operational energy from locally-sourced materials. We will reduce the signature of combat operation centers by 74% and dismounted infantryÆs battery weight burden by 67%. This program takes a systems-level approach to the infantry operational energy challenge by integrating multiple mature technologies. By addressing several critical infantry power needs. This innovation reduces dependence on contested petroleum fuel logistics, noisy diesel generators, and heavy batteries. This program will benefit Marine Corps infantry at the company, squad, and individual levels, providing them with a decisive edge in contested environments.
