Research abstract
Alitheon’s FeaturePrint is an optical-AI technology that creates for items and products what fingerprints are for people: a distinct, unique, and persistent identifier, enabling full traceability, which does not require modifying or adding anything to the items. No markings, no tags, no add-ons. By just taking photos with standard off-the-shelf cameras (and even mobile phones), FeaturePrinting enables identification, authentication, and traceability of individual items out of millions of identical ones. Whether starting at the manufacturer, in the supply chain, at installation, or during service and maintenance, the DAF can irrefutably identify and trace each and every item. The process is easy to implement, integrate, and operate, with no more than standard off-the-shelf cameras and the most basic of training. Additionally, FeaturePrint can be integrated into existing enterprise resource planning and material requirements planning platforms, if required. The objective of this Phase I project is to acquire a Customer Memorandum from relevant Air Force Customers and End-Users. This Customer Memorandum will serve as an acknowledgment of the interest and readiness of the USAF Division to participate in a Phase II Development project.
