Research abstract

In a rapidly evolving landscape marked by the rise of formidable adversaries, such as China and Russia, the United States Air Force stands at a crossroads. On a constantly shifting battlescape, with troops endlessly in motion, and the technological threats at an all-time high, securing communications over distance presents a unique challenge. Combatant commanders need to be in direct contact with their network of units across the field, at the speed of light, in order to make the necessary decisions to win the fight. The Phase I objective focuses on the validation of integrating Zenith AeroTech's tethered UAS technology into the Air Force's real-time operational requirements. The technology's practicality and low-risk nature align seamlessly with the immediate needs of the Air Force, enabling swift integration with existing systems and demonstrating its efficacy through targeted use cases.
