Research abstract

The Defense Deep Space Sentinel (D2S2) spacecraft, being championed by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and the U.S. Space Force (USSF), will demonstrate extraordinary mobility between Earth GEO-transfer and cislunar orbits while serving as a testbed for space vehicle operations and cislunar space domain awareness (SDA). Slingshot Aerospace is enabling this mission by providing (i) customized SDA mission planning software; (ii) on-board real-time payload data processing; (iii) ground cislunar SDA mission data processing software; (iv) mission performance analyses; and (v) on-orbit experimentation support. In this Phase II program, Slingshot will enhance, mature, and demonstrate the cislunar SDA technologies prototyped under the prior Phase II effort on the targeted hardware in the on-orbit testing and experimental operation stages of the D2S2 mission.
