Research abstract

In response to the Navy SBIR Topic N19-031, the IRGLARE/UCF team is pleased to propose the development of a new standardized fabrication process of low-cost 4.6µm Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs) capable of producing multi-watt continuous wave (CW) optical power in a nearly Gaussian beam (M2<1.5) with efficiency exceeding 10%. This will benefit a very diverse set of critical DoD applications, including DIRCM, infrared beacons, target designators, illuminators, remote powering of electrical devices, and free space optical communications.
