Research abstract

EA propose a Phase I SBIR project to deliver a voice-control UAS system for faster and more effective execution of base security, threat identification, classification, and threat tracking. Our human-machine interface uses intuitive and adaptive natural language to reduce cognitive load on operators, and improves situational awareness at higher mission speeds. By merging AI systems which turn operator voice commands into actions we can improve dramatically the effectiveness of a command-room-drone-operator and reduce the command-room-operator training times by 75% (estimated). Examples of commands: “take-off”, “Return to base station and land”, “Follow the red car”, “Find and classify the source of that motion detected by sensor 123”, “Give me an overhead video of the fire”, “Check if that road ahead is clear of cars for one mile".
