Research abstract

ÝThere is an opportunity to take advantage of the military-wide openness in thought (and funding) toward better battlefield connectivity and data fusion. The Air Force expresses this via C3BM while the Navy has programs with hundreds of $M in funding such as Project Overmatch that can influence individual platforms and networks to work together to create new data pipelines. As such, Mimyr proposes the Briefing and Onboard Data Enhancement for Pilot Vehicle Interface (BODENPVI) software suite, based on several unique design innovations.ÝBODENPVI shows multiple advantages of the current method of a pilot carrying multiple tablets (and even printed papers) and using different software during different types of missions.Speeds demonstration and adoption since ATAK is already used and trusted.Deduplicates and homogenizes data from different sources to a cohesive pilot view.Properly handles different classifications of data to Navy and NSA standards.Allows tablets with ATO to continue to be used by proxying processing.Additional data sources and graphical features can easily be added.Export of maps, drawings, metadata, and icons in a common ATAK format.
