Research abstract

The US Air Force is seeking to develop scalable, flexible, lower Size, Weight, Power, and Cost (SWaP-C) Global Positioning System (GPS) crosslink capability to allow future operational systems to forego significant dependence upon ground clock and ephemeris refresh, with concurrent support of real-time command and control and age of data. The development of this capability will improve the reliability and robustness of future GPS satellites by providing continuous ephemeris updates and terminal control. MaXentrics proposed solution combines millimeter wave (mmWave) crosslinks with advanced networking algorithms to achieve this advancement in GPS crosslink capability. The resulting scalable solution targets low SWaP-C electronics, providing an upgrade over existing crosslink technology at reduced SWaP-C. Furthermore, by integrating networking algorithms into our solution, we add the capacity to scale the crosslink network beyond the GPS network, over non-homogenous links.
