Research abstract

To meet the objectives of SBIR topic HR0011SB20254-P01 (“Spectrum Monitoring and Awareness in Real-Time”), MaXentric proposes a novel solution called the MaXEdge. This system integrates MaXentric’s custom MaXSDR SoC with advanced signal detection and characterization software to create a low-SWaP handset that replaces currently fielded dismounted soldier radios. MaXEdge enables real-time RF spectrum sensing, pattern-of-life (POL) analysis, and emitter localization, all visualized through an intuitive GUI on a connected Android ATAK tablet. The design supports dynamic spectrum access (DSA) and operates autonomously based on preloaded policies. In Phase I, MaXentric will define the hardware architecture, signal processing software, and user interface, and demonstrate key functions. In Phase II, a fully integrated prototype will be developed, tested, and delivered.
