Research abstract

The proposed SBIR will lead to the development of a miniature, programmable, shock hardened data recorder intended to support penetrating weapons testing. During Phase I McQ will design, develop, fabricate, and test a prototype recorder to demonstrate our capability to produce a product that meets or exceeds Air Force requirements in terms of desired features and shock survivability. Also, McQ will define a design approach for a Phase II program that will continue development and refine the technical concepts based upon the prototype recording system developed in Phase I. For Phase II we will use the prototype design as a springboard to achieve a refined designed that incorporates new customer requirements, such as additional enhanced analog acquisition channels, an integrated accelerometer, and expanded communications capabilities. At the conclusion of Phase I, McQ will manufacture and deliver a small number of prototype recorders to the Air Force for testing and design validation.
