Research abstract

McQ will build on its previous experience of developing the Wireless, Time Synchronized, Event Control System (WTECS) currently in use by Holloman High Speed Test Track (HHSTT) to develop a new wired Enhanced Timing Event Control System (ETECS). The goal of this SBIR is to replace the legacy Timer-Programmer System -Āwhile continuing to use the existing wired infrastructure at HHSTT -Āwith a new system with greater capability and additional features. During Phase I, McQ will define and document all user and technical requirements, perform market studies for the required components, and create a system architecture. Through the previous WTECS SBIR effort for HHSTT, McQ has demonstrated its ability to build and deploy a highly reliable and accurate timing event control system. Applications for ETECS include precision time monitoring and control for data acquisition and event triggering. It can be used for staged events and event sequencing for rocket motors, sled testing, and other types of testing. This new system will also result in the development of new timing products for future commercialization.
