Research abstract

MaXentric’s goal for N05-042 SBIR project was to lay down a solid foundation for an innovative V-band 802.11 based WLAN system that could be used on the topside of a Navy vessel without compromising the vessels EMCON detection requirements. Our Phase I efforts have produced a detailed blueprint for such a system including substantial software simulations typically reserved for a Phase II effort. MaXentric’s proposed system designated as “ViFi” achieves this goal offering significant deployment flexibility with its innovative architecture. ViFi also maximizes the use of all existing 802.11 WLAN assets in use by the Navy as it allows the Navy to effortlessly upgrade and extend the existing systems to V-band for topside deployment.
