Research abstract

Triton Systems, Inc. responds to DARPA’s need to develop flexible thin-film transistors (TFTs) on flexible substrates for integration with other complex functionalities such as flexible memory, flexible waveguides and flexible photovoltaics to form conformal smart skins and multifunctional structures with built in signal processing and functional control circuitry for air, space, and terrestrial applications. Our innovation consists of a unique chalcogenide-based and organic hybrid spin-coating processed device and a TFT architecture that allows for compatible processing of both layers. During the proposed Phase II, Triton and its STTR partners will evaluate approaches to improve device mobility, and further develop methods for solution coating onto flexible substrates.
