Research abstract

Envision will determine the optimal digital day/night imaging solution, balancing performance with Size, Weight, Power and Cost (SWaP-C) providing the best value to the Marines. The Crew Served Weapon Sight (CSWS) architecture is advanced and flexible and will support the inclusion of additional capabilities such as passive ranging and automatic target recognition. Envision will also identify the ideal laser range finder (LRF) for the Marines operational scenarios and integrate it with a direction finder, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and a fire control/ballistic computation module providing ballistic holds and/or disturbed reticles. Most importantly the CSWS will have an intuitive user interface that is developed with detailed feedback provided by the Marines and captured during multiple interactive sessions during the base and option periods.
