Research abstract

GreenSight proposes the development of the Parexo SLUAV (Sonobuoy-Launch Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle), a groundbreaking system designed to enhance Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capabilities. This dual-role UAV integrates advanced Magnetic Anomaly Detection (MAD) and waterborne acoustic sensor systems, enabling efficient detection, localization, and tracking of submarines while significantly reducing operational costs and flight hours for ASW aircraft. The proposed Parexo SLUAV is a tube-launched, hybrid aircraft capable of conducting airborne MAD searches and deploying in water for extended acoustic tracking. Leveraging commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) sensors and GreenSight’s TRL-9 UltraBlue avionics stack, Parexo delivers cutting-edge onboard processing capabilities that support autonomous anomaly detection and data fusion. The SLUAV’s innovative capabilities align with Navy ASW requirements and present additional opportunities for environmental monitoring and underwater surveying, expanding its potential applications beyond defense markets. GreenSight’s proven expertise in advanced UAV systems, combined with strategic partnerships and a strong commercialization strategy, ensures the successful transition of the Parexo SLUAV to operational deployment.
