Research abstract

Auriga proposes the development of a cutting-edge electromagnetic accelerator to address critical gaps in U.S. hypersonic testing infrastructure. With a focus on high-speed, low-cost, and accurate testing, this solution is designed to meet the growing need for rapid, repeatable testing of hypersonic systems and subsystems. The proposed testbed combines key advantages of existing technologies while overcoming their limitations. It provides a realistic flight environment for testing articles, with reduced vibrational noise and improved aerodynamic accuracy. The ability to perform frequent, high-fidelity tests will ensure rapid technology maturation, contributing to the U.S. maintaining its edge in Great Power Competition.
