Research abstract

To achieve real-time, comprehensive understanding of activities across the information environment to support all Combatant Commands Octant’s AI-enabled stance detection and network mapping capability directly address the problem by injecting speed, scale, and rigor into information operations (IO) analysis. Instead of relying on months of human reporting, commanders and analysts gain persistent visibility into online ecosystems, with automated indicators for emerging threats. In essence, this technology creates a high-resolution map of the information battlespace, allowing U.S. forces to navigate the IE with the same confidence and situational awareness that GPS and reconnaissance provide in the physical battlespace.
