Research abstract

China’s advanced Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) strategy is reshaping military dynamics in the Indo-Pacific. Why it Matters: China seeks to prevent adversaries from operating in critical areas. The US must adapt and modernize - current Unmanned Air Systems are outdated and limited in their operations. By advancing UAS technology, the US can maintain operational flexibility and ensure dominance in areas critical to national security, even within highly contested zones.   Our Solution: In development with Penn State University (PSU), our High- Speed Tactical Reconnaissance Drone (HSTRD) is a UAV designed to function in A2/D2 environments. With advanced stealth capabilities, optimized endurance, and superior real-time intelligence processing, the HSTRD provides enhanced capabilities for strategic surveillance and precision strike mission, ensuring the US stays ahead and maintains technological superiority against adversaries.   The team will develop and test a next generation multi- purpose/multi-use high speed, high altitude UAS with increased endurance, and increased agility for operations in rural and highly congested environments.
