Research abstract

The DLA has a need to identify competent and qualified domestic suppliers for mission-critical items that are becoming increasingly scarce. At conclusion of the Phase I effort, Mentis will have generated Technical Data Packages and Source Approval Requests for components on the F/A-18 Aircraft. The parts will be defined through legacy documentation and reverse engineering.  Mentis will generate a drawing package for each component, including the required specifications, dimensions, and quality provisions to maintain the performance of the OEM legacy components. A Source Approval Request will be generated containing information needed to produce the part and all quality documentation required to verify the requirements of manufacturing are met. At conclusion of the effort, Mentis anticipates becoming, on track to become, an approved source for all components included in the proposed effort.
