Research abstract

In order to help achieve the digital transformation goals for Space Launch and the Spaceport of the Future, Rise8’s Launch Scheduling and Optimization Tool will allow SSC/AATS to build and deliver a modern launch scheduling and cost tracking capability that will provide increased automation, visibility, and accuracy. In addition, Rise8 will pair with Guardians and Supra Coders from SSC/AATS to upskill and enable their organic digital workforce while providing an improved user experience that will help bring together multiple organizations involved in the launch operations and management process.  Rise8 has the people, process, and technologies to ensure the USSF will be able to build resilient, ready, combat-credible forces that can execute the Spaceport of the Future vision. Rise8’s advanced software development, DevSecOps, and path-to-production experience will allow the USSF to transform from legacy to digital with a continuous Authority-to-Operate (cATO) approach that enables continuous delivery of advanced government and commercial technologies for Space Launch operations to include an integrated Spaceport Launch Scheduling and Optimization capability to automate, increase visibility, and tracking across launch scheduling and cost operations.  SSC/AATS, along with SLD45 and SLD30, are at the forefront of the ambitious Digital Spaceport of the Future challenge. These entities have initiated critical steps towards revolutionizing space launch operations, aiming to modernize infrastructure, enhance scheduling efficiency, and improve cost management. However, this journey is just beginning, and the path ahead is replete with complex challenges and the need for substantial advancements. To truly transform space launch operations into a more agile, efficient, and cost-effective model, SSC/AATS, SLD45, and SLD30 require collaborative efforts across the industry. There is a significant need for innovative solutions and partnerships that can address the multifaceted aspects of spaceport modernization, from technological upgrades to operational and scheduling optimization. This collaborative approach is essential for these organizations to successfully navigate the intricacies of modern space launch dynamics and realize the vision of a fully digital and modern spaceport. Rise8’s approach creates repeatable processes for software innovation delivery, builds stronger relationships with industry and academia, provides technical enablement to capability providers, and drives alignment between senior leadership initiatives and tactical capability development.
