Research abstract

The Radio Frequency (RF)-based Artificial Intelligence to Detect, Exploit, and React (RAIDER) project is a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) effort focused on utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to help meet capability gaps and solve challenges for the United States Army. Electronic Warfare signal processing and detection uses complex methods which are not on the cutting edge of technology. Electronic Intelligence Notations (ELNOTs) are one of the major methods for identification of known signals. For Aircraft, they must be pre-loaded with very specific survivability software loads that include (among other things) ELNOTs for a specific theater of operation or operational Area. RAIDER proposes to develop new technology, using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, to identify, track, and mitigate signals of interest that are known, as well as categorize, track, and assist in identification of new and emerging unknown signals on the battlefield.
