Research abstract

IS4S offers to propel the initial common launch container (CLC) design from Phase 1 to finalize the technical data package (TDP), build prototypes, and test & demonstrate the CLC during Phase 2. IS4S will leverage the unique modular launch mechanism and other important features for the CLC to generate a government-owned TDP, ICD, & IDD for USSOCOM. IS4S will continue the integration with the Battle Management System (BMS) to control the CLC and carry power/messaging to the munition. The Phase 2 effort will entail developing verification artifacts for the CLC requirements to qualify a storage, transport, and launch container. The design will also be modular and an open architecture to allow for easy substitution of future technology and capabilities. IS4S will deliver a CLC design that meet or exceed the TRL 6 requirement by the end of Phase 2.
