Research abstract

The DMEA14A-001 solicitation identifies the need for a monolithic Radio Frequency (RF) System-on-Chip (SoC) Software Defined Radio (SDR) Integrated Circuit (IC) transceiver for satellite communications (SATCOM).   In response, MaXentric is proposing the MaXSDR SATCOM which is an SDR SoC suitable for satellite communications. The design leverages MaXentric’s extensive experience creating SDR SoCs for DoD applications. Through the use custom circuits and pretested IP blocks, which leverage extensive commercial investment in telecommunications, a design which meets the goals of the solicitation will be achieved. A mix of parallelized processing and application specific circuit design will enable the SoC to simultaneously support communication waveforms, internet-of- things (IoT) edge-computing, and artificial intelligence (AI) processing.   By creating an optimized compiler for the MaXSDR SoC, new secure waveforms and functions can be easily ported to the system. Since MaXSDR SoC is very low SWaP-C this will allow these waveforms to penetrate into smaller systems maximizing impact. For the DoD this means lower cost more secure
