Propulsion Enhancement of Joint Precision Air Drop System 4K (JPADS 4K)

The Joint Precision Aerial Delivery System 4K (JPADS 4K) is a program of record for delivering 4,000 lbs. of airdropped supplies via autonomous, guided, ram-air parachutes.á JPADS 4K range from aircraft exit is less than 30 miles, which puts transport aircraft within the range of anti-aircraft systems.á Freedom Flight Works (Freedom Flight) proposes augmenting the JPADS 4K with the addition of propulsion, beyond line of site (BLOS) datalinks, improved parafoils and other enhancements.á This augmentation will produce a Long Range Precision Aerial Delivery System 4K (LRPADS 4K), a platform with over two thousand mile range that is able to keep Air Force aircraft outside of the enemy weapons engagement zone (WEZ).á When matured LRPADS 4K will have the ability to perform a variety of specialized Air Force mission sets, including Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and weapons launch, in addition to cargo delivery.á LRPADS 4Kĺs ability to deliver supplies to distributed Air Forces bases and operations in the INDOPACOM AOR will provide a new dimension of operational flexibility and the ability to surmount contested logistics (ConLog) challenges.á Freedom Flight has secured an Air Force Customer Memorandum from USCENTCOM, and commitment of matching funds from two private investment funds for twenty-five thousand dollars each in support of the proposed project.
