Research abstract

Hyper Enabled Autonomy Drone Suite (HEADS) enables multi-agent collaboration and autonomous navigation in dense and congested environments with the objective of target search and reporting within an area of interest. HEADS enables scalable, practical sensing and communications extensions to the existing open-source SUAS ecosystem to enable scalable swarm operations. HEADS extends GS’s work on the DARPA HASHTAG SBIR Phase II and is based on lessons learned from that project about scalability limitations. HEADS fills a significant gap in US DoD access to miniaturized low SWAPC, high capability nano SUAS. Foreign adversaries have ready access to commercial technology developed overseas that can deliver these capabilities but are unsuitable for use by US DoD forces for security, supply chain, and other reasons.
