Research abstract

Composite Technology Development is on a mission to provide the lightest hydrogen fuel tanks on the planet. This project focuses on the development, maturation, and qualification of liner-less, all composite Type V high-pressure hydrogen tanks for Unmanned Air Vehicle applications. The objective is to create durable and high-performing tanks that meet stringent regulatory and safety requirements while enhancing the operational capabilities of unmanned air vehicles. Key aspects include advanced composite materials, nano-filler incorporation to reduce hydrogen permeability, structural durability, and long-term reliability. The project aims to address technical challenges related to materials performance, safety, and operational efficiency, ultimately contributing to the advancement of unmanned air vehicle technology and its impact on military operations.
