Research abstract

Rogue Space Systems is working to close the gaps in implementation and robustness that exist in the state of local Space Domain Awareness (SDA) by using optical sensors in a wide variety of wavelengths to detect Resident Space Objects at medium- to long-distances. Rogue will develop an on-board image processing pipeline that uses common filtering and characterization algorithms while also including novel algorithms that utilize the nuances and dynamics (changes over time) of multi-spectral data to determine detailed information about RSOs orbit, attitude, mass properties, size, intent, and capabilities. Rogue believes much more can be pulled from these observations (in-situ) than is currently done in ground-processed SDA cataloging systems. Rogue will increase attitude knowledge, photometric knowledge, and translational knowledge, greatly improving total SDA and providing valuable information for USSF.
