Research abstract

OVERVIEW J3i has developed an Armed Overwatch (AO) & Close Air Support (CAS) solution for USAF Special Operations Forces (SOF). Named ôArchangel ISTAR,ö it is the integration of three TRL9 technologies: UAV, ISR Camera & munitions. Our proprietary Modular Mission Payload Unit (MMPU) & Command & Control User Interface (C2UI) make this possible. Our solution creates a novel kinetic system filling problematic capability gaps. The need for immediate organic air support facilitated by small UAS is well documented in the Ukrainian conflict and is an ongoing mission imperative in the joint special forces community. While rudimentary and unsafe for its operators, the effect on the opposing forces has proven convincing. This validates the need for a MILSPEC solution that satisfies the higher standards and capabilities of the USAF. TECHNICAL ABSTRACT The J3i Archangel ISTAR is a modification & integration of three TRL9 technologies through our Modular Mission Payload Unit (MMPU) & Command and Control User Interface?. The result is a novel kinetic offensive (AO) and defensive (CAS) system competently filling problematic capability gaps.
