Research abstract

The Anello Photonics Handheld Inertial Navigation System (INS) for the dismounted warfighter provided navigation in contested environments without GPS or external RF signals.Ā The handheld design leverages Anello Photonics commercial Silicon Photonics Optical Gyro (SiPhOGÖ) on a chip with low drift and low bias.Ā The small compact SiPhOG sensor is 1.2" x 1.2" x 0.5" with a power consumption of less than 1.2 Watts providing for battery operated operations. The unit will provide navigation accuracy of less than 0.1% distance travelled, along with the North Finding measurements in less than 20 seconds.
