Research abstract

In a current AF Phase II SBIR, Management Sciences, Incorporated (MSI) with commercialization partner General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is developing a military multi-domain cybersecurity hypervisor for AF munitions based on the GDMS commercial OKL4 NSA-certified “bare metal” cybersecurity microvisor. In another current AF SBIR program, MSI will flight-certify and deliver low Size, Weight, Power and Cost embeddable programmable instrumentation circuits (EPIC) that combine data recording with Bayesian artificial intelligence and real time machine learning that will monitor Air Force aircraft systems and components to support condition based maintenance, increase operational availability, and reduce life cycle cost. For the AF Ventures CS01 Technical Area 9 Blue Sky topic, MSI, in team with GDMS, proposes to upgrade the EPIC architecture to support the multi-domain cybersecurity hypervisor to produce a cybersecure EPIC to meet NSA certification for protecting Level 1, Level 2, and FOUO data and communications by “smart” munitions and other weapon systems. The innovation will enable cybersecure information about the health states of weapon system performance and components to be transmitted during mission in real time.
