Research abstract
AnySignal proposes the development and demonstration of RAIDEN: a Resilient, Agile, and Interference-Defiant Network for secure military satellite communications (MILSATCOM). RAIDEN is designed to address vulnerabilities in current SATCOM systems stemming from centralized control, fixed waveform stacks, and proprietary radio hardware—all of which are increasingly exploitable in modern electronic warfare environments. This Phase II effort advances RAIDEN to TRL 7 through integration of four key technologies:Waveform Agility—using FPGA-based reconfigurable modems to enable seamless switching between MILSATCOM waveforms like LPI/LPD and DVB-S2;Adaptive MAC Layer—supporting decentralized control and resilient networking under degraded-link or jamming conditions using hybrid TDMA/FDMA and dynamic mesh protocols;Situational Awareness via Spectrum Sensing—real-time jamming detection and interference classification for proactive waveform adaptation; andHardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) Testbed—a lab-validated environment simulating contested RF conditions for performance evaluation and operational training.Built around AnyLink, AnySignal’s modular radio abstraction layer, RAIDEN is hardware-agnostic, enabling deployment across satellites, tactical terminals, and ground stations. Deliverables include a prototype anti-jam modem, a centralized control UI, and a testbed toolkit. The system is designed for seamless transition to Phase III with strong alignment to USSF, PTS, and JADC2 integration pathways
