Enhanced EOD Training Capability

Team Dignitas, consisting of prime contractor Dignitas Technologies, and subcontractor Hazardium, will address the customerĺs requirement for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training by leveraging extensive reusable baselines and deeply relevant experience with virtual training, the EOD domain, VR/AR technologies, 3D modeling, and adaptive tutoring.á We can already assert and even demonstrate that VR/AR-based technology can support many EOD training use cases. Thus, we can better focus on this SBIR's technical challenges and risks such as identifying the best ways to interact with the virtual environment, how to dynamically adjust visual content based upon trainee actions, and how to maximize flexibility in usable AR/VR hardware (e.g., to enable upgrades to new headsets as they become available).á We will achieve this via a detailed domain analysis, selection of 3-4 diverse scenarios, development of a rapid prototype, and final demonstration of capabilities.áThe end result will be tangible progress toward Joint EOD training with lightweight, portable VR technology.
