Research abstract

The focus of this SBIR project is to design, develop and deliver a manufacturable synchronous amplifier to address a severe component shortage in the C-130H fleet. During the Phase I period of performance, Kaney completed the characterization of the legacy component and developed Kaney-owned designs to replace the legacy amplifier to meet form, fit, and function requirements as provided by the Air Force. For this proposed Phase II activity, Kaney will complete the detailed design and qualify a replacement synchronous amplifier for flight service. As discussed with USAF end-user, qualification activities will include delivery of a synchronous amplifier for on-aircraft systems testing. Processes and methods developed in this Phase II may also be applicable to other legacy parts for which the DLA seeks new sources of supply.
